When you commission a painting by me, you are commissioning an heirloom. I use only high grade, archival quality pigments, supports, and techniques to insure that your artwork lasts through generations. Pricing depends on a number of factors including the quality of the reference photo (if supplied by the client) and background details. The following price list should give you a framework from which to start the discussion. All prices include a photo session with me for reference material, however if outside of the Birmingham area, travel expenses will also apply.
Portraits:
Prices start at $1800 for a single subject

Pet Portraits:
Prices start at $600 for a single subject, sizes start at 8"x8"

Special Features- for a unique twist on a full portrait, some clients opt for portraits of individual features such as mouth, eyes, or hands. These are wonderful in a grouping as an alternative to traditional family portraits. Also, their smaller size makes for a perfect gift for a parent or a lover. Prices are listed for small, life sized paintings, however I can certainly do these larger than life for a bolder, contemporary statement if that's more to your liking.
Eyes (also known as "Lover's Eyes"- a tradition that dates back to the 18th century):
Prices start at $300 for one eye, $500 for both eyes- size varies depending on format but small (4" or less) works beautifully for such intimate detail.
Mouth:
Prices start at $400, sizes start at 4"x4"

Hands:
Prices start at $500, sizes start at 8"x10"

Treasured objects- Whether it be a well-loved toy or a well used tea cup, sometimes treasured objects seem to acquire a soul. Sizes and prices vary by subject, but begin at $300 for 4"x4" portraits.
